The featured product takes inspiration from "ऊदक " (Udaka) which is the Sanskrit term for Water.
This garment is a part of our "तत्त्व" (Tattva) Collection showcased on the sustainable fashion day at Lakmé Fashion Week, October 2020. The collection represents the twelve tattva or elements of the universe as per Indian scriptures.
The textiles for the garment are handcrafted on our customised looms in Benares using Japanese Bemberg yarn & deploying centuries old weaving techniques such as tanchoi, dampach, vaskat, phekuan & katarwaan. The brocading on the textiles has been done using extremely fine metallic zari including real silver.
Note: Crinkling & oxidation are inherent properties of the metallic zari.
